A World of Wonder Awaits
Holbrook & District Preschool has been running for many years by committed, caring and qualified staff. Their primary aims are to offer a secure, friendly and stimulating environment which promotes learning through play for every pre-school child in their care. A real home from home.
Each child is given the opportunity to learn new skills, make friends and enjoy a wide variety of activities. Activities are designed to stimulate the child’s creativity and imagination, extend the child’s understanding of the world around them, develop language and listening skills, learn to work in groups and to respect and value people from all backgrounds. They have a lot of fun too.
Holbrook Playgroup is affiliated to the Pre-School Learning Alliance and is regularly inspected by Social Services and Ofsted. All Health and Safety Guidelines as required by Ofsted Early Years are followed.

Meet the Staff
Anya - Manager- Preschool Lead
I am a qualified level 3 childcare practitioner and was fortunate enough to have a placement here to complete my course. I also completed my high school work experience here which is when I decided I wanted to work with children.
My favourite part of the job is watching the children grow, develop and achieve their goals and milestones. I also really enjoy spending time with the wrap around children and finding out about their days.
My hobbies include reading lots of different genres of books, watching youtube videos and cooking. My favourite dish es to make are pasta dishes and I love to try new recipes.
Jenny - Toddler Lead
My name is Jenny, and I have worked in childcare since I left school, I am a level 3 qualified childcare practitioner and have been at Holbrook Pre-school for 16 years.
My role in setting is Toddler lead which I find very rewarding, seeing the children become more independent and being proud of their own achievements. I love to be outside with the children and enjoy using the countryside around us to really get the children involved in the community and making the most of the open space around us.
Out of work I like to go running and walking and generally keeping fit, I do enjoy watching football as well as a little sparkle in Strictly Come Dancing.
Molly - Apprentice
I have always wanted to work in child care and am currently working towards my level 3 qualification. I love working with children and helping them to grow and develop. I also enjoy teaching the children new skills and learn so much about myself at the same time.
Outside of work I like to read and cook/bake.
Danielle, aka Nanna, Mumma Harris. - Administrator
I’m the Administrator to the preschool as well as the cleaner and cook. I have worked at the preschool since January 2024, before this I was on the committee as Treasurer. I‘m also on the fundraising group.
I have grandchildren attending the setting and hopefully many more to come through in the next few years. I have 4 children 2 stepchildren and so far between myself and my husband we have 11 grandchildren. Life is certainly packed.
In my spare time I love reading romance novels, one year I got through 325 books. I was a gardener for 20 years prior to coming to the preschool and I still love to dabble in horticulture.
